Briticom® is proud to become one of the very few fibre optic structured cabling manufacturers able to provide the full MDC solution. The MDC connector is a Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) duplex optical connector designed for termination of multimode and single-mode fibre cables up to 2.0mm in diameter. Furthermore each MDC connector is manufactured with the proven 1.25mm ferrule technology used within industry-standard LC optical connectors.

There is no doubt that this innovative fibre solution offers incredible high density options. For example, by simply switching from LC duplex connectors to MDC duplex connectors in a 1U patch panel, the fibre capacity is increased to an outstanding 432 fibres instead of 144.
Additionally the MDC patch panel we provide has been specially designed to hold six easy-to-slide trays, that can hold up to six MDC splice cassettes. Subsequently each cassette houses up to 24 MDC duplex adapters. These MDC adapters are available in three-, four- and six port options, with and without flanges and furthermore are available for use with our patch cords and pigtails in UPC and APC, multi mode and single mode. In addition the changing of polarity is quick and simple with a push pull boot system. As a result, this gets rid of unnecessary exposure of fibres. Furthermore, our MTP-MDC pigtail cables offer a 4, 8, 12, or 24 fibre solution.
